The goal of the proposed project, to develop cooperation competences and engagement of educational institutions and local communities for the creation of active local communities and promotion of social entrepreneurship. Project partner British Council Latvia.
Centre for Education Initiatives (CEI), who has a wide experience in the development and implementation of the further education programs in different regions of Latvia, especially in Latgale region (including for Russian speaking communities and participants).
Development of training programmes and seminars, establishment of community resource centres, planning, strengthening and development of their activities, measures to mobilise and activate local communities, development of supporting materials (guidelines, etc.), activities to promote social entrepreneurship, collection and dissemination of good practices.
Internationally recognised approaches and training methodologies will be used during the project implementation on the variety of opportunities for the families and the members of local community to be engaged into the children learning and development processes, at the same time developing local communities’ participation and social co-responsibility and entrepreneurial skills in building ashared life space.
– training programs will be developed, target groups from other cities will have an opportunity to use them;
– the project network of participating institutions will be created in order to ensure professional development, based on the exchange of practical experience;
– cooperation and mutual responsibility with the government and municipal institutions responsible for improving the quality of the educational process will be activated and updated – their representatives will be involved in the development and implementation of the project activities;
– cooperation among BC and professional non-governmental organizations will be strengthen for developing new cooperation forms and new ideas according to British Council’s “People to People” Programme and other programme objectives.
More than 40 educational institutions engaged; 1000 – 1500 project participants; 2 teachers further education programmes developed and 2 supporting materials/ guidelines developed; 1 project/good practices book developed (with video material attached); trainingsimplemented – 48 days; workshops organized – 12 days, 4 community resource centres established, 24 events organised at the community resource centres; 16 meetings, 1 symposium, regular professional counsultations; importance of education in community development has been increased; collection and dissemination of good practice, etc.
